Recipe Books for Sale!

St. Finian’s Recipe Book will be on sale from Wednesday (12th) until Friday (14th) in the school. The remainder will be sold in the local shops. Cost is €10 per book. Limited copies available. Funds received will be put towards buying new science equipment. Your support will be greatly appreciated.  

Christmas is Here!

The school is in full swing now preparing for Christmas. The tree is up and beautifully decorated by the sixth class. Massive thanks also to past pupil Jessica Galvin, who did a fabulous job decorating the windows! New Bird Feeder

Well done and many thanks to Tom Boyle, Jack Murphy and Pearse O’Sullivan who took part in a woodwork course with their Dad’s in Tech Amergin. Over the five week course the boys build a beautiful bird feeder and have presented it to the school. Many thanks to Suzanne McCarthy who taught the class.

Competition to turn on the Christmas Lights

Tidy Towns ran a competition in the school for the turning on of the Christmas Lights, this Friday evening (7th December). Pupils in 5th and 6th Class wrote a poem/ story about Christmas in Waterville, which will be judged by the Tidy Town Committee. New arrivals to St.Finian’s

The countdown is finally over and so far we have two little chicks. I’m not sure who is more excited the children or the staff. A big thank you to Mr O’Leary for bringing new life and so much joy to the school.

Competition Time..

Waterville First Responders group are running a competition to design a crest for their group. The competition is open to all the children of the school. Individual or group work is accepted. Competition runs until the Wednesday the 5th of December. Class teacher will collect all entries.

Egg Incubator

Mr. O’Leary brought in an egg incubator to school last week to show the children. There is currently 14 eggs in the incubator that are being watched very closely. Here’s hoping to hear a few chirps in 21 days time…  

Remembrance Plaque

Many thanks to Albert Walsh you brought in the “In Remembrance of those killed in World War One, Iveragh 1914-1918” plaque to show the children.
