School Lenten Campaign

17/04/2018

As part of the Lenten Campaign Fifth and Sixth Class ran a Saint Vincent de Paul Fundraiser to raise much needed funds for the local charity. All classes bought tickets on a daily basis. On the day of the Easter Holidays a raffle was held in every class, where the winning ticket won an Easter Egg. Local volunteers from the St. Vincent de Paul, Fiona de Buis and Noreen O’Shea came to the school to talk to the children about the charity and where the money goes. It was a most informative talk giving the children a great understanding of a local charity. Well done to fifth and sixth class for organising and running the campaign.

In other news, fifth and sixth class are currently reading the novel, “The Guns of Easter” by Gerard Whelan. It’s going down well.
