Renowned Irish Sailor, Damian Foxall visited the school on the 17th October 2018, to talk to 3rd – 6th Class pupils about his 10 around the world races. Damian told the children about his experiences, life on board a sail boat for the equivalent of a whole school year. He also showed them where in the world he traveled and the many challenges he faced. The children learned how to tie different types of knots and they also tried on different sailing gear that Damian used on his travels. Damian highlighted to the children different types of marine careers and how most careers can be linked to life at sea. The children really enjoyed the talk. A massive thank you to Damian for this very interesting visit.
